Parents,
Can you believe that March is now just two days away? Where has the time gone?! Your scholars are working hard each and every day and growing tremendously! I am proud of their growth and their will to learn!! With that being said, March will be extremely busy for me as I am presenting at two major education conferences in Raleigh (NCTIES) and in Greensboro(NCMLE). Please send good vibes my way :-) Third Grade: This week your third grade scholars are learning to multiply to find the area of a rectangle. Vocabulary that they should know: area, square units and perimeter. There will be no homework this week. As a bonus, please have them find five objects in or around your house and have them find the area and perimeter of each object. If they turn this in on Friday they will get a special treat! Fourth Grade Your fourth grade scholars are continuing learning about how to relate decimals and fractions. As a bonus this week, please work with your scholars on page 218, there is an awesome activity that they can do with you that helps them to better relate decimals and fractions to money.

I had the pleasure of being able to watch Ron speak this week at Beaufort Tech Community College for their 50th anniversary! As always, after hearing him speak, I came back inspired, on fire and ready to continue making a difference in the lives of our scholars! He even took the time to speak to fourth grade scholars briefly over facetime!
Dear Parents,
This week we’ve been using an exciting educational game called Prodigy. While we will be using the program during school hours, students can play with the same character at home to supplement their practice! Help your child by registering a free parent account now. 1. Go to www.ProdigyGame.com, and select 'Get Your Free Account.' 2. Once you’re logged in, select 'Link your child's account to see their progress.' 3. Select 'Add Students' and then set the toggle to 'Existing accounts.' 4. Enter your child's username and password (listed below). 5. Select 'Link student accounts'. Real-Time Reports: A Prodigy Parent account gives you access to multiple comprehensive reports, daily and weekly usage data and we’ll even email you from time to time about your child’s progress! How does my child play Prodigy at home? 1. Go to www.ProdigyGame.com on almost any Internet enabled device. 2. Select 'Play Prodigy' in the top-right corner. 3. Once the game loads, enter your child's username and password and select 'LOGIN'. Your child's username and password can be used to log into the game by following the instructions above. If you have any questions, please don't hesistate to ask! |
